Travel / Hotels

We know that international travel takes a little extra planning, and we truly appreciate everyone making the trip to celebrate with us in Zacatecas.

Below is some helpful information about flights and places to stay.

Passport reminder: Please check your passport expiration date before booking travel. Six months of validity is strongly recommended.
Arrival suggestion: We recommend arriving 3–4 days before the wedding to help with jet lag, get acclimated to the altitude (~8,000 ft.), and enjoy more of the festivities.

Flights

Connecting flights are available from all major U.S. cities into Zacatecas Airport (ZCL), usually with a layover in Mexico City, Dallas, or Houston.

For guests flying into Zacatecas, we will have car shuttle options from the airport to your hotel, run by either trusted local drivers or Jocy's family.

For cheaper flight options, you can also fly into one of the following Mexican cities, and then take a bus to Zacatecas. The buses are safe and modern, we use them all the time!

México City: ~8 hours by bus
Monterrey: ~7 hours by bus
Aguascalientes: ~2 hours by bus
León: ~4 hours by bus
Guadalajara: ~4 hours by bus

If you fly into one of those cities, you can Uber from the airport to the bus station. We use Uber often in Mexico, and it is always safe and reliable.

Hotels

We are encouraging our guests to all choose one of the following hotels, so everyone will be together, for easier transportation, and for fun:

Weather: During the day it could get very hot, so we recommend light and breathable fabrics. However, in the evening/night it almost always gets chilly, so we recommend you plan on bringing a shawl or a light jacket to ensure comfort throughout the night.

FAQs

When should I arrive in Zacatecas?

The main events are on Friday evening and all day Saturday, so we recommend that you are in Zacatecas from at least Friday to Sunday. However, there will be other optional group events coordinated starting on Wednesday morning, and going through Sunday afternoon, so the longer you can come for, the better!

Will there be transportation?

From Zacatecas Airport into town, there will be car shuttles run by trusted local drivers and Jocy's family. If you are flying into another airport, you will need to travel to Zacatecas by bus (modern, clean, and safe). We would then coordinate a car service to take you from the Zacatecas bus station to your hotel.

Fatima Church is walking distance from all Zacatecas hotels. We will provide a bus service for after the Mass, taking you between Fatima (the Church) and FincaSanta (the reception).

What is the dress code?

Formal attire is kindly requested for our celebration. We encourage guests to dress elegantly in keeping with the tone of the event and the historic setting.

Please also keep in mind that this is a religious ceremony, so please dress accordingly.

Can I bring a date?

Possibly! If your date is not included in your invitation, please reach out to us and we will let you know if we have space available.

However, if you are single, don't feel afraid to arrive single, as there will be many singles at our wedding and we will be helping everyone meet each other!

Are kids allowed?

We kindly ask that only children listed on your invitation attend our celebration. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate additional children.

The reception: indoors or outdoors?

The Mass will of course be indoors, but afterwards there will likely be some time in Guadalupe's main plaza which is outdoors. The reception will be in FincaSanta, which is an open-roof, indoor / outdoor venue.

During the day it will likely get hot (~80°F) but in the evening/night it almost always gets chilly (~50°F, this is the desert at 8,000 ft). We recommend you plan on bringing a shawl or light jacket to cover up at night just in case (which you can leave in the bus until the reception).

Gifts

Your presence is our present, but we do appreciate your presents too!
You can gift us cash, or anything else if you have something special in mind.
